hey i found this website, http://www.questia.com/PM.qst?a=o&d=592008, and it has a book or essay over the black perspectives of huck finn. it talks about black and white views on the book and people opinions on it that lived in the 19th century versus the people that lived in the 20th century that read it. i only read a little, but the little i read was pretty good.

  1. i thought this statement was really cool: “Huck Finn demystifies slavery and takes the romanticism out.”

I think this is saying that in HF slavery is very straight forward. Twain does not beat around the bush with trying to tell about it; he’s very blunt. i guess he wants people to really understand what slavery was like, even though we really can’t. It would be like us trying to explain to our grandkids what 9/11 was like.
